Each one hour session will allow for your child to decide how they want to play. There will be games, building materials, and arts and crafts available to choose from!

Breakfast: We know your children need fuel to learn and grow! Therefore, in the first 10 minutes of each session we will provide time to eat breakfast. We will be offering a nut free breakfast bar and a fruit cup to get their morning started. Alternatively, you may choose to send your child in with a quick cold breakfast of their choosing (such as a yogurt, a muffin, fruit, cereal, or a bar).

The art of cursive writing is a valuable skill that enhances students' handwriting, fosters creativity, and promotes fine motor development. In our increasingly digital world, cursive writing can also serve as an engaging and hands-on way to help students develop patience, concentration, and attention to detail.

The primary objective of the Cursive Club is to provide students with a structured, yet enjoyable, introduction to cursive handwriting. Through fun, interactive lessons, activities, and challenges, students will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of cursive writing, including proper letter formation, spacing, and flow.

  • Develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

  • Gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work.

  • Express themselves in creative and unique ways.

  • Build patience, concentration and perseverance.

The Cursive Club will meet once a week for a 45-minute session. Each session will consist of the following components:

  • Introduction to Cursive Letters

  • For beginners: Introduction to individual letters and their proper formation.

  • Guided Practice Time

  • Students will engage in individual practice exercises, such as tracing cursive letters, practicing words, or writing short sentences. Teachers will provide personalized feedback to help students improve.

*PLEASE NOTE: If you attended Cursive Club last session, you are welcome again as a review, but please note that we will be starting from the beginning of cursive handwriting development.

There will also be time for:

  • Practicing signatures

  • Creative Cursive Challenge-Students will participate in a cumulative cursive writing challenge. This could include writing out favorite quotes, creating a cursive greeting card etc.

  • Continued practice at home in workbook after session has been completed.
