This fall, we are excited to offer Fuel Your Fun!

There are numerous ways to get your heart rate up, and cardio should be a key part of everyone’s healthy lifestyle. Fortunately for everyone, cardio isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” choice. Cardiovascular exercise, strengthening moves and flexibility poses mixed with good nutrition options not only boosts mood but also increases overall happiness…..remember those feel-good endorphins?

Your body needs energy and nutrients like carbohydrates, fats, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and water. Look at what eating healthy foods can do:

  • Boost your immune system

  • Give you more energy

  • Reduce stress on your body

  • Lift your mood

  • Reduce the risk of diseases

  • Help you learn in school

  • Mental health

  • Expanding your food selection (you might find something tasty here that you really like)

Join Ms. Battinelli and Mr. Romeo on Monday afternoons, where we will explore healthy food choices and explain how they help your body function at its best. We hope to highlight the importance of pairing healthy nutritious meals with fun exercises. We’ll be preparing a variety of nutritious snacks, including fruit and berry smoothies, oatmeal with toppings, veggie pita pockets with hummus, turkey and avocado roll-ups, nut butter and banana quesadillas, guacamole with veggies and homemade tortilla chips.

After enjoying our creations, we’ll head to the gym for fun and engaging activities such as jump rope routines, tag games, power walks, sprints, boxing, and Bosu ball workouts.

This year we would love to have 5th graders be the ones to develop the yearbook. This will include layouts, photography, designing the 5th grade student spotlight pages, and much more. We will use past yearbooks for inspiration while encouraging students to put their own creative spin on the process.
